Cardinal Systems & Strategy, LLC (“Cardinal,” “we,” “us”) builds CRM, automation, phone, and website systems for small businesses in Greenville, South Carolina and the Upstate. This policy explains what information we collect through www.cardinalsystemsandstrategy.com and our related communications, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Newsletter signup: your email address.
  • Callback requests: your name, phone number, and anything you choose to include in the form.
  • Booking a discovery call: your name, email address, phone number, and your answers to any booking questions.
  • Calls, texts, and emails: the contents of messages you send us and the phone number or email address you contact us from.
  • Client work: if you hire us, information about your business, your tools and processes, and any screenshots, files, or view-only access you choose to share. We never ask for your passwords.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, our website platform and Google Analytics collect standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the links you click (including when you download one of our free worksheets), and the site that referred you. This is done through cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies” below). We do not ask for your email address to download a free worksheet.

Information from other sources

We may collect publicly available business contact information, such as a business name, business email address, or business phone number listed on a company website, directory, or professional profile, in order to contact businesses about our services.

How we use information

  • To respond to your questions, return your call, and schedule and hold the calls you book.
  • To provide, manage, and bill for the services you hire us for.
  • To send our newsletter if you subscribe.
  • To contact businesses about services we believe may be useful to them.
  • To understand how the site is used, including which pages are visited and how many people download our free tools, and to improve it.
  • To protect the site from spam and abuse, and to meet legal obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here.

  • Service providers that help us run our business, and only for that purpose: Squarespace (website, forms, and mailing list), Acuity Scheduling (booking), Google (business email, calendar, video meetings, spam protection, and website analytics), Quo (business phone and text), and Instantly (business email delivery).
  • Marketplaces: if you hire us through a platform such as Upwork, that platform’s own terms and privacy policy also apply to information you share there.
  • Legal and safety reasons: when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our clients, our business, or others.
  • Business transfers: as part of a merger, sale, or reorganization of our business.

Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam. Its use is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Email choices

Every newsletter tells you how to unsubscribe: reply to the email with the word “unsubscribe” and we will remove you. Every business outreach email we send identifies Cardinal Systems & Strategy and includes a way to opt out. We honor opt-out requests within 10 business days. You can also ask to be removed at any time by emailing us.

Cookies

Our website platform and Google Analytics use cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to work. Others measure site traffic, such as which pages are viewed, which links are clicked (including downloads of our free worksheets), and where visitors come from. Google Analytics is provided by Google and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics; parts of the site may not work as expected if you block cookies. We do not currently run advertising on this site. Our site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, including to maintain business, tax, and accounting records. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

How we protect information

We use reputable service providers, two-step verification on our business accounts, and limited access to client information. No website or online service can guarantee complete security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.

Your choices

You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first, and we may keep information we are legally required to retain.

Children

This site is intended for business owners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Other websites

Our site links to other websites and services, including our booking page. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business and services change. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above.
